Today, April 11, 2017, is World Parkinson’s Day. I would be thrilled if you could show your support by using or sharing the hashtag #UniteForParkinson on April 11th.
This organization is trying to raise awareness of Parkinson’s (PD), and to let people know that no matter where they are in the world, there is hope and support available.

During the past 21 years since my diagnosis of PD, I have experienced the gamut of emotions in developing my awareness and acceptance of PD. These emotions have ranged from being discouraged, hopeful, anxious, worried, resigned, content, angry, satisfied, excited, secretive, ambivalent, overwhelmed, and many more emotions.
Writing in my blog, Shake, Rattle and Roll, has provided a source of strength, support and awareness over the years.
The following are a couple of my favorite blog posts about the secrecy surrounding the disclosure of PD.

Reveal Instead of Conceal

I have moved a long distance on my path from concealing to revealing. It has been a lot of hard work, but I'm happy that I've chosen the route toward acceptance. Thank you for your kind support along the way.
