Highlights of 2008
From Kate and Tom Kelsall
May happy memories make you glad
May all your dreams come true
May joy fill up your home and heart
As the holidays come to you.
April 2008: We flew to New York City for the book launch of “Proud Hands of Parkinson’s” (Kate’s story is one of those featured) and participated in the Parkinson’s Unity Walk.
Mqy 2008: We celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary.
June 2008: Kate danced with the Rockyettes in an Evening of Dance.
June 2008: We traveled to Mesa Verde in Colorado and climbed in the ancient ruins.
July 2008: We enjoyed Alaska by plane, train, boat and bus.
September 2008: We visited friends, Gayle and Bill Kaune, for the third consecutive year and enjoyed the Port Townsend (WA) Film Festival.
October 2008: Kate’s Mom, Marge Doyle, died from complications of Lewy Body Dementia (photo from Christmas of 2007).
Throughout 2008: Kate and Valerie Graham co-lead the DBS support group and volunteered as DBS Patient and Family Liaisons at the University of Colorado Hospital. Tom and Carolyn Zeiger co-lead the support group for partners of those with Parkinson’s.
In February, Tom will celebrate 15 years as a clinical social worker for Adams County. He recently received the “Make a Difference Award” for his 10 years of volunteering with One-on-One Fishing.
