I don’t usually send thank you notes to banks. In fact, this is the first one that I’ve ever sent:
This morning, I received excellent customer service from Jamy, one of the staff at your bank.
When I was trying to put my coins in your coin machine, I dumped $83.52 of coins on your floor. I sometimes can be very shaky because of having Parkinson’s Disease. I am currently 56 years old and was diagnosed 10 years ago.
I looked at the teller closest to the coin machine and told him what happened. Jamy overheard and did/said the following:
• Asked if I wanted some help, and I said yes
• Immediately came out from behind her station and started picking up the coins
• Asked if the bag with the coins had broken, and I said that no, but that I am often shaky because of having Parkinson’s Disease
• Acted like it was a normal occurrence, even though we both knew it was not
• Asked me to come to her station to complete the transaction, where I deposited the funds in my account
• Asked me about my plans this afternoon
• Throughout the transaction, Jamie was courteous, respectful, and showed no signs of irritation. Her demeanor was professional, friendly, and conversational. Meanwhile, I was very embarrassed, and in the past, experiences such as these could turn someone like me into a shut-in.
You are fortunate to have Jamy as an employee. She epitomizes excellent customer service, and turned a humiliating experience into a pleasurable one. Thank you.
