Paul,

Thanks for your comments which I posted as an Addendum. I agree with your feedback about how I performed the yoga poses on the video. My blog post had more to do my perception of my body image, which may or may not reflect reality.

Reminds me of the video my adult ballet class made so we could practice over the summer. You could easily tell those who had taken ballet before from those who hadn't. And then there were a few who had no grace, poise, or sense of how to move their bodies. I was in that group. I don't know how the instructor kept from laughing. I was comical, bizare, awkward, and stiff plus fatter than I imagined.

I didn't practice and didn't return to class in the fall. I agree with the comment your instuctor made about setting realistic expectations. In my mind I was a beautiful swan before that video. I have even more respect for people who dance and make it look good/easy (I'm a dancing with the stars junkie) But I do remember some of the corrections the teacher gave me as I go to get the pots from the bottom shelf. They are the basics of good body mechanics. So it was a good learning experience, if not a pretty one.
